Time To Check-In

How are you coping with your mental health? Therapy is an option, but some use self-care practices and non-traditional therapeutic support to cope with mental health concerns.

The most important thing to know about maintaining a healthy mind, is to not neglect it. Avoiding only makes mental health concerns worse. Self-awareness + honesty are the first step in self-love and the first set in coping with your mental health. Being aware of the mental health concern and understanding it is important and so is being honest with yourself about your mental health. It’s difficult to know how to cope with mental health without being honest about what is happening within us because of it.

The reality is, not everyone has access to traditional therapy due to access; transportation, childcare, and financial concerns are some barriers to being able to meet with a therapist. If you are struggling with major depression disorder, generalized anxiety + social anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), prenatal or postpartum depression, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or any other mental + behavioral health concern, you are not alone.

Mental health concerns are common and may require you to do a self-assessment to determine if you need to seek additional help and support. There is nothing wrong with talking to a professional if you have the privilege or to seek non-traditional therapeutic options.

Here is a self-assessment to help you ask yourself what you are doing too much of, too little of, and what you are not doing at all to help you determine how you can give yourself the nourishment that you need:

  1. Love this! Loved this assessment, check out my results below:

    1. I am thinking about my future with my daughter and how I can better myself as a person and as a business woman for my daughter. I am feeling relaxed yet rushed and tired.

    2. I am doing too much worrying.

    3. I am doing too little of giving myself credit for the hard work I am and have put in for myself an my daughter.

    4. I am not putting up with any mess or drama. I’m not listening to doubters nor letting my guard down. I am not going to church as I should.
